Who We Are
Earth Matter NY, Inc. is a member-based non-profit organization. This means that members are directly involved in the decision making processes of Earth Matter. Here are the different roles that comprise our membership.
Advisory Board
Now Forming! We are searching for people who are passionate about composting and sustainable practices and would like to join with Earth Matter by lending their expertise, skills, facilities and/or and advice to us. Advisory Board Members are our active guides to direction in which our organization will grow.
Vision and expertise can be in just about any area related to sustainability and organizational growth as related to our mission. Some examples of advisory member focus are: composting, environmental education, biology, horticulture, urban agriculture, technical support for physical operations, volunteer coordination, public relations, event planning and fundraising, accounting, rainwater harvesting, and many more. If you have something that you'd like to share in support of Earth Matter, pitch it to us and we'll surely find a niche for you.
Advisory Board Members attend at least 3 of 4 Advisory Board Meetings each year. Over this next year the Advisory Board will determine how to best develop the Board. To get in on the ground floor of this exciting opportunity to help shape a dynamic community that is passionate about Earth care, fill out our membership form and check the box "Would like to serve on the Advisory Board."

Volunteers
Earth Matter volunteers are people who are passionate about composting and sustainable practices and are willing to get their hands a little (or maybe even a lot) dirty. Read about a variety of volunteer opportunities and see which is right for you. To become a part of Earth Matter's volunteer force, fill out our membership registration form and check the box "Would like to be a volunteer." To volunteer for a specific event, contact Earth Matter.
